It started with a Piso Fare

When I found out the Cebu Pacific was offering its ever-sought Piso Fares in the middle of August 2012, I didn’t hesitate to book myself a ticket for an international trip. I found out about it while sipping coffee in the cafeteria. A colleague of mine read an sms message from a travel agent out loud so everyone could hear. there wasn’t much response, but I told myself it’s time I get to see the world. Feeling excited, I immediately looked up Cebu Pacific’s website.

Yes, yes, yes! It was indeed 1 Peso! Plus, it ZERO FUEL SURCHARGE! Aside from the Piso base fare, all I needed to pay for was Aviation fees and other taxes. I was overwhelmed since the fuel charges are the most expensive parts and they’re offering it for free! I didn’t even care if I had to wait for a year to use the ticket. The prices were almost just a giveaway.

I already had a destination in mind – Hong Kong. I thought I could visit my aunt there and also take the boat to Macau as well. Unfortunately, most of the famous holiday destinations had there seats full. It hasn’t even been twenty-four hours! I started crossing Hk and Macau on my list. Bangkok was full too. Singapore wasn’t available on my preferred date , and Kuala Lumpur as well.
It was disheartening, but I continued to search. I looked at their destination list and saw Ho Chi Minh City. I knew about it. My college professor shared about her travels in class and one of her destinations was Vietnam. I clicked on Ho Chi Minh, and then voila!
It was perfect! I made a booking but had to wait until the morning to pay via LBC.
Perhaps it was destiny. As I read more about Southeast Asian routes, I was thrilled in finding out that I could cross over Cambodia and Thailand just by buses too!
So I went to LBC in the morning and paid my due. After twenty-four hours, I got my itinerary via e-mail.

I just paid 1063.40 pesos for a return ticket! Isn’t it a steal? :)
